Information Technology and Computing Services (ITCS) is the central agency that supports enterprise- wide computing at East Carolina University. ITCS, through innovative information technology initiatives and service, provides opportunities for the ECU community to excel in teaching, research, and service using state-of-the-market technology and collaborative environments. ITCS is first and foremost committed to providing excellent information technology support for faculty, staff, and students. ITCS partners with campus departments, other universities, and industry to make strategic investments in information technology infrastructure that will help maintain a competitive advantage in administrative applications, faculty research, and outreach to the state and nation. We will achieve this through increasing the core functions and deploying appropriate technology throughout the university.

The Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) Support and Maintenance team is a major division of ITCS that maintains administrative computer applications for the university. Programming specialists, analysts and technicians support the University ERP System, Ellucian Banner, and various interfacing systems used by administrative offices across the campus such as Finance, Human Resource and Payroll, Student, and University Advancement areas.

As a Banner Support Analyst , you handle these tasks: 

  • PL/SQL, SQL, Java programming 
  • Ellucian Banner support
  • Support Tickets
  • Technical resource
  • Collaboration with stakeholders
  • Maintaining documentation

We are looking for a candidate with these preferred skills: 

  • Knowledge of the following environments, languages, and tools: Oracle, Ellucian Banner, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, cloud REST API, Broadcom Automation (UC4, AppWorx, Automic), Unix/Linux shell scripting, GIT/GitHub, TOAD, SQL Developer
  • A technical understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Enterprise-wide (ERP) Administrative systems, ETL process creation and documentation
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows-based operating systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to continually learn new technologies and mentor junior team members.
  • Collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather and explain business requirements.
  • Work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and set task priorities when having multiple high priority tickets.
  • Maintain and update documentation as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate regular status updates to leadership.
  • Strong customer-focused support skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
