Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Department Manager

Purpose and Scope: 

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

• Employee must be able to read a tape measure and distinguish the thickness and types of   materials.
• Cut all programmed parts on a CNC machine, label part with the boat number, distribute all   cut parts to the correct departments
• Able to learn operation of all hand tools and power tools in the department such as: table saws, band saws, drill press, etc.
• Hand tool operation: jig saws, screw guns, skill saws etc.
• Learn to troubleshoot most errors on programs that can be operated from machine at post
• Must be able to lift heavy material (up to 50 pounds)
• Read and comply with all safety and workplace rules
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor and/or lead person
• It is the responsibility of each employee to perform assigned duties in a safe manner to   prevent injuries and produce quality work.
• Clean work area to maintain safety and housekeeping standards
• Seeks positive solutions to issues and problems
• Assist other team members when schedule and responsibilities allow
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carryout detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.

Education and Experience: 

1. GED / High School Diploma 
2. 1-3 years previous experience in the boat manufacturing industry preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee may work in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
