Correctional Asst Supt II (NS)

Salary Grade Range: $52,592.00 - $92,036.00

The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!

This position is located at the Eastern Region Office in Greenville, Pitt County, NC. Position Summary: This role provides security support to the Region Operations Manager and is responsible for operational duties within an assigned geographic area. The position includes frequent interaction with all facilities throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the region's tactical officer and PREA Compliance Manager.
• Accompany external agency inspectors, coordinate follow-up actions, and ensure completion of any required corrective measures.
• Review and respond to correspondence and inquiries from offenders and offender family members.
• Review all death incident reports and PREA incident documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as the Region Safety Compliance Officer.
• Conduct investigations as assigned by the Region Director.
• Supervise inmate workers assigned to the Region Office.

Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

• Demonstrated experience using effective supervision and management techniques
• Experience working with or overseeing facility operations
• Demonstrated familiarity with Prisons policies and procedures
• Experience applying rules and regulations related to inmate custody and treatment

To be considered for a Correctional Associate Warden position, ALL applicants must:

• Pass a criminal background check

• Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
• Possess a valid driver's license
