Full pay range: $20.75 - $35.25 based on factors such as labor markets, education, experience, and certifications.Benefits include comprehensive health coverage (medical, vision, dental, life insurance), a 401(k) plan, employee discount, short- and long-term disability, paid sick leave, paid national holidays, and paid vacation.More details: Overview The Assets Protection Team Leader ensures the safety and security of guests, team members, and merchandise, leading a team and managing theft, shortage, and crisis response.Responsibilities Lead a security culture that includes crisis response, safety environment, and crowd management.Provide support to both guests and team members.Implement daily and weekly workload priorities aligned with business goals.Respond to external and internal theft incidents, preventing future theft.Resolve external theft and fraud, apprehending individuals in accordance with policy.Partner with store business leaders on operational shortage priorities.Lead a team of hourly team members, interviewing, developing, evaluating, and retaining talent.Consistently deliver guest experience commitments, provide feedback, and hold team members accountable.Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify improvement opportunities.Support total store sales and profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available.Engage guests at the front of the store and on the sales floor.Influence and validate physical security and safety processes; participate in store response and emergency crisis situations.Develop, coach, and lead team members to elevate skills and expertise.Anticipate staffing needs and support talent planning.Identify theft and shortage trends, and support store leaders in reducing shortage.Work a schedule aligned with guest and business needs, including early mornings, overnight, evenings, weekends.Develop team schedules and adjust based on security and theft trends.Own prevention, identification, and resolution of external theft incidents; conduct apprehensions per policy.Initiate, investigate, and resolve internal investigations as directed.Educate store leadership on best practices for merchandise protection.Order merchandise protection devices as needed.Review and manage the allocated budget, adhering to guidance.Communicate AP priorities to team, peers, and leadership.Build trustful relationships with leaders and law enforcement.Collaborate with retail partners to analyze industry trends and enhance security.Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions, support onboarding and learning.Demonstrate ethical conduct and compliance, holding team accountable.Maintain required training and serve as first responder for in‑store safety incidents.Model physical security processes to enhance store culture.Support merchandise protection strategies across the store.Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.).Perform all other duties as needed to meet business priorities.Qualifications Minimum 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent.Meet any state or local licensure or legal requirements.Preferred: previous retail and/or loss prevention experience (not required).Ability to lead and hold others accountable.Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.Willingness to work a flexible, variable schedule (including nights, weekends, holidays).Excellent communication skills and a welcoming, helpful attitude.Ability to climb ladders, apprehend subjects per policy, scan, handle, and move merchandise up to 40 pounds.Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.Reliable and prompt attendance.Candidate Requirements Access all areas of the building; interpret instructions, reports, and information; respond to guest or team member issues; support store safety and crisis response.Benefits Eligibility Learn more about benefits eligibility: & EEO Statement Target complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
