The purpose of this position is to provide highly skilled administrative support to the IT Department by performing a variety of complex administrative and general office management duties. This is accomplished by assisting the IT Department with overseeing and administering fiscal control policies and processes within the department and performing related work as required. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of standard administrative and clerical procedures, budgeting, financial, and purchasing procedures, contract review and renewals, copier lease agreements, vendor correspondence, oral and written communication, and the ability to provide varied, responsible, and often confidential secretarial and office administrative assistance to department.
Ability to operate assigned equipment, including computer equipment and various software packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, and Power BI.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow-up on assignments with minimal direction. Ability to work cooperatively with city officials, other employees, and the general public. Ability to demonstrate utilizing tact when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. Ability to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Special requirements include a valid N.C. driver's license.
