Driver-Patient Transportation

Position Overview: The Driver-Patient Transportation position at Freedom Hill Community Health Center is part of the Patient Transportation services offered through the Outreach and Enrollment department. The Driver-Patient Transportation will provide transportation services, within any of our clinics for patients with medical and dental visits.

Essential Tasks:

• Ensure the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients to their designated clinic by practicing appropriate safety measures and adhering to all applicable company policies and procedures, including North Carolina law.
• Contact the patient with a reminder of their appointment and verify home address, a day prior to their scheduled appointment.
• Complete the Transportation Log daily in order to record who he/she has transported, the mileage, and destination.
• Complete the Driver's Daily Inspection and Condition Report to assess the safety and maintenance of the vehicle.
• Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the vehicle. Deficiencies must be addressed prior to departure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of similar experience.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Active NC Driver License with a clean driving record.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Must demonstrate a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, obey laws and safety regulations to ensure patient's safety.
• Must have flexibility with schedule and the ability to work nights and on occasion, one Sunday per month.
• Basic computer skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm 8-hour shift Day shift

Physical Requirements: Constant standing and walking, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, reaching forward and overhead. May occasionally be required to lift office equipment and paper, usually not exceeding fifty pounds of direct lift. Frequent driving work required. Must have transportation available during the workday for frequent local travel within and out of the community.

Base Pay Overview: The starting pay for this position is $12.36 hourly. Please keep in mind that actual salary will vary based on various factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the roles.
