The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.
The Stock Clerk II performs a variety of clerical and manual tasks related to the requisitioning, receiving, storing, and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment, including furniture, in coordination with the moving crew and central warehouse operations. This role supports the daily operation of the stockroom and follows established stock keeping procedures, while exercising sound judgment in identifying stock items, making appropriate substitutions, and initiating requests for replenishment. Additional responsibilities include assisting with event setup and maintaining the facility's recycling program. This position is located within the Environmental Services Department and operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, with working hours of either 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
