Company: Gerber Collision & GlassJob Title: Auto Body TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Auto Body Technician's primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each customer's vehicle. The Technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles, ensuring speed, quality, and customer excellence.Key Job ResponsibilitiesEnsure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates for customers, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.Hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; apply filler resins when other methods are not feasible.Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.Replace or repair interior parts as required.Weld and attach parts, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent.Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and ensure all work is correct by inspecting after repair.Perform other related duties as assigned.Education and Experience RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.Required Skills and AbilitiesAbility to read job orders and work with little supervision.Ability to work collaboratively with other repairers.Thorough understanding of methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.Proficiency in using tools required for the trade.Other RequirementsAbility to work safely in a noisy area with many odors.Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times.Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections.EEO StatementThe Boyd Group welcomes unique talents from all backgrounds and characteristics.
