Performs Laboratory procedures and tests in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner, according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications
*EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:*
Associates of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or 60 semester hours of college credit including classes in chemistry and biology and a one-year curriculum in clinical laboratory techniques or a twelve-month military medical laboratory- training program.
*EXPERIENCE* Two years is preferred
* *LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION*
* Registry is preferred by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or by an equivalent agency.
* *OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS*
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team leader with other departments to develop or provide instruction in point of care testing. Strong writing skills with the ability to develop policy and procedures. Excellent computer skills and experience with multiple computer systems including MS Office and Excel. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects. Strong regulatory knowledge of JC, CLIA, CAP and other quality systems.
* *WORK ENVIRONMENT*
* Due to indirect or direct contact, you may be at risk for exposure to tuberculosis, blood borne pathogens (which include HIV and Hepatitis B), and/or other potential infectious diseases. Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals. Frequent contact with water (hand washing and cleaning). Sufficient noise and interruptions to cause distraction and stress.
