Summary:

The Epic Clinical Applications Analyst II plays a vital role in defining system scope and objectives by conducting thorough research and understanding the applications utilized within the healthcare environment. This role involves gathering end-user requirements and analyzing current operational procedures to enhance workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary support contact for application end-users, ensuring smooth operation and addressing issues promptly.
  • Conduct workflow discovery through site visits and validation sessions, collaborating with various department heads to identify information needs and resolve problems.
  • Design, build, and test system workflows, including integration with third-party applications used by clinical departments such as nursing and therapies.
  • Recommend and implement approved changes to improve system functionality and workflow.
  • Lead medium to large clinical system projects, maintaining communication with Epic representatives and internal teams.
  • Prepare system flowcharts, reports, and documentation to support project progress and system usage.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior application analysts and end-user staff.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, professional image of the Information Technology department.

Education:

  • Associate degree in Nursing with licensure, or
  • Associate degree in a health profession with current professional licensure or certification, or
  • Associate degree in information technology; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Must hold Epic certification.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of healthcare IT experience with Epic certification.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing end-user needs and business requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear and concise information exchange with project leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Proficiency with computers, note-taking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, resolve conflicts, and motivate team members.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Willingness to provide on-call support and travel as required.
