Company OverviewContentnea Health is a Community Health Center providing comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services for members of our communities in Greene, Pitt and Pamlico counties in eastern North Carolina.Job SummaryProvides administrative and clinical supervision of the Behavioral Health department and provides clinical behavioral health care.Responsibilities and DutiesLeads the operations of the Behavioral Health departmentCollaborates with senior leadership to develop and implement the goals and objectives of the Behavioral Health departmentParticipates in marketing, education and recruitment activities as neededCollaborates with the medical and dental divisions to promote health care services integrationRepresents the Behavioral Health department at sites visits as neededProvides supervision, support, consultation, and training for Behavioral Health staffOversees services provided by Medical Family Therapists, including clinical quality, patient experience and performanceEstablishes performance standards and assesses clinical performance on an ongoing basisEstablishes and maintains documentation of clinical protocols, policies, and proceduresEnsures that new behavioral health practitioners receive adequate training to support skill developments in all domains of core clinical competencies (i.e., clinical skills, consultation, documentation, teamwork and administrative skills)Ensures compliance with discipline specific code of ethics; federal, state, and local laws, regulations and organization policies and proceduresAssists in the training and guidance of use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR)Implements screening assessments and corroborates adherence to screening standardsProvides behavioral health servicesConducts traditional therapy appointments with the therapeutic interventions in accordance with established departmental proceduresCollaborates with medical practitioners and clinical support staff to identify patients' mental health needs and ensure the integration of mental health services into their overall healthcare planParticipates in case-consultations and team meetings to share insight and enhance overall patient careProvides brief integrated behavioral healthcare services to patients during medical appointmentsDevelops treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs in accordance with established departmental proceduresFosters a collaborative relationship and facilitates communication with the clinical team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in patient careAdheres to established scheduling templates in provision of patient careOversees Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) clinical integration, care quality, and practitioner performanceImplements evidence-based clinical protocols related to whole-person wellness, health coaching, and behavioral health integrationPromotes whole-person, culturally competent care consistent with equity standardsLeads integration of behavioral health and enabling services within primary care teamsImplements interdisciplinary care planning and documentation for high-risk patients, such as huddles, case conferences and care plansDirects case management interventions and resources to support patients experiencing social drivers of health (SDOH) needsDevelops and monitors workflows ensuring patients have timely access to behavioral health and enabling servicesParticipates in quality metrics directives and departmental quality improvement (QI) projectsMaintains current knowledge of quality initiatives by regularly attending the clinical and practice meetings and reviewing internal communications and resourcesCompletes peer reviewComplies with Clinical Quality Measures expectationsModifies workflows as determined by department to attain QI objectivesConsistently documents activities related to QI objectives.Provides education and training to clinical team to foster integration of servicesProvides overall management and direction to departmental staffOversees the development and maintenance of the departmental budget; monitors ongoing budgetary compliance and addresses problems as neededDelegates departmental duties and responsibilities; participates in high priority special projects and activitiesRepresents the department at all senior management meetingsPrepares departmental company policies and procedures and conveys all senior management communications and directivesQualifications and SkillsMaster Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Therapy. Possesses advanced knowledge of program, organization, federal, state, and third-party regulations relating to behavioral health care.
