Process Control EngineerOur Plymouth operation is a random length sawmill primarily producing lumber up to 20 feet in length with some specialty related capacity. Shopping and arts/entertainment are available in neighboring cities.Key FunctionsPerforming quality assurance on existing manufacturing processesIdentifying areas that need process control optimizationEvaluating the efficiency of manufacturing technologies, instruments, equipment, and toolsImplementing preventive and predictive maintenance methods and systems to reduce unscheduled downtime and utilize reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure production volume, quality and overall uptime goals are metAssisting in project planning and drive an electrical safety culture based on NFPA 70E complianceActively supervising and developing the electrical maintenance team to ensure effective communication across & between shifts and with the production teamsUsing preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtimeEnsuring efficient use of reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volume and quality goals are metEnsuring effective use of training resources to maximize team technical skillsUsing computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resourcesQualificationsAssociate's degree (or higher)At least 5 years' experience in PLC programmingProven experience in HMI ProgrammingExperience working in an industrial manufacturing environmentWork related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiativesDesire and ability to manage projectsHigh level of proficiency with PLC troubleshootingAbility to program and troubleshoot AC or DC power inverters/frequency drivesFamiliarity with preventative and predictive maintenance systems and techniquesAbility to read and understand electrical power and control system schematicsAbility to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrenceExcellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsStrong work ethic, good judgement, and decision-making skillsDemonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, other Windows-based programs and internet skillsMust be able to accept calls during non-business hours as neededMust be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, when necessaryPreferred QualificationsBS engineer related degree highly preferredFamiliarity with electrical power distribution systemsKnowledge of mechanical and fluid power systemsWHY WE'RE A GREAT COMPANYWe sustainably manage forests and manufacture products that make the world a better place.
