Job DutiesThe Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations in the College of Education at East Carolina University seeks a tenure‑track, nine‑month, full‑time assistant professor to begin in Fall 2026.The successful candidate will balance teaching, research, and service in higher‑education leadership, including:Teach working professionals in the department's higher‑education leadership programs, including the Doctor of Education (EdD).Develop and pursue an active research agenda with potential for external funding.Integrate teaching and research to practice in higher‑education settings.Serve as dissertation chair and committee member for EdD students.Provide service to the university and to rural eastern North Carolina.Engage with state and national professional organizations such as NCPEL, ASHE, UCEA, and CPED.Contingent upon availability of funds.QualificationsAn Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Higher Educational Leadership, Community College Leadership, Student Affairs, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated oral and written communication skills.Evidence of outstanding teaching, research, and service potential.Experience in higher education, with a preference for those focusing on rural‑serving community colleges or student affairs.EEO StatementEast Carolina University is committed to workforce success and cultivating a culture of care for its employees.
