Strategic Project Engineering Manager

A leading national food manufacturing organization is seeking a Strategic Project Engineering Manager to support large-scale automation, packaging, and capital engineering initiatives across multiple production facilities nationwide.

This role is ideal for an engineering professional who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and enjoys leading high-impact projects from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multimillion-dollar capital engineering projects from planning through implementation
• Manage equipment installations, automation upgrades, packaging systems, and process improvements
• Coordinate project execution with vendors, contractors, plant leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams
• Develop layouts, equipment specifications, budgets, schedules, and project documentation
• Support plant operations through engineering design, commissioning, and startup activities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and operational efficiency
• Support multiple manufacturing facilities across the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred
• 5+ years of engineering/project management experience within manufacturing environments
• Experience managing large-scale capital projects
• Background in food processing, packaging, or related regulated manufacturing required
• AutoCAD proficiency required
• Experience with equipment installation, vendor management, and plant project execution
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills
• Ability to travel extensively nationwide (70–80%)
