The Strategic Project Manager will be pivotal in steering state-of-the-art automation projects within the meat processing domain. This Manager shall collaborate extensively with business associates and multifunctional teams to comprehend automation requisites and transform them into ingenious resolutions. Serving as a reliable authority in project management concerning equipment automation, this position deals with even the most challenging dilemmas by converting pioneering concepts into actuality.Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Strategic Project Engineering Manager:Accountable for formulating initial designs and specifications for engineering and materials, in addition to producing project cost evaluations.Conduct studies on the feasibility, research, and economic aspects to ascertain that the design is both feasible and cost-efficient.Establish design criteria based on mandatory standards and regulations, and validate fieldwork, formulating drawings post-execution to record the conclusive outcome.Review and verify the accuracy and soundness of engineering projects, overseeing project implementation by offering guidance to vendors and contractors.Align project schedules with plant personnel, vendors, and contractors, ensuring harmony with management and engineering teams to successfully execute strategies.Organize and command equipment vendors to outline layouts, guarantee utility requirements are fulfilled, and adhere to installation timelines.Analyze work products submitted by consultants, offering suggestions for corrections if necessary.Manage comprehensive documentation, including equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, parts lists, specifications, and vendor/service contact information, ensuring systematic organization and accessibility of project details.Undertake engineering planning, design, and operational reviews during pre-project analyses to determine feasibility and confirm adherence to project objectives.Define the scope of work, draft requests for proposals, and assess received proposals to select the optimal approach.Present detailed reports to management by designated deadlines, maintaining them informed on progress and vital project advancements.In charge of contract administration, scrutinizing bid packages for compliance and thoroughness.Prepare crucial project documents, such as justifications, budget analyses, calculations, plans, and schedules, to oversee project execution.Survey installations to ensure that proposal specifications and budgets are met, managing allocated budget activities for financial control and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.Enhance robotic and controls knowledge continuously to implement inventive solutionsEducation & Experience Requirements of the Strategic Project Engineering Manager:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, or related field, and 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.2+ years' experience in a position of leadership, including team development and management, is required.Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.Lay out and design experienceExperience managing a multi-million dollar budget.Must possess Project Management skills; Contract Administration skills; National codes and standards interpretation skills.Proficient in engineering economics.Proficient in AutoCAD.Proficient in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and Word processing software, other Microsoft Office products.Ability to travel to other locations.
