Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team in support of a new, state-of-the-art solar manufacturing facility in Greenville, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring both direct and indirect materials and services essential to our operations. This position plays a key role in building and managing a reliable, cost-effective supply base to support our growing business. Occasional overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and qualify new sources of goods and services with a focus on supply base optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure best total value for the organization.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, including price competitiveness, delivery reliability, responsiveness, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality and other departments to resolve quality or performance issues.
  • Review and evaluate supplier bids and proposals; provide sourcing recommendations to leadership.
  • Negotiate and manage contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and other procurement-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other procurement-related projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar ERP system preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional – CPP, Certified Professional Purchasing Manager – CPPM) a plus.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is an asset but not required.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
