Job Title: Pega Lead System Architect (LSA)
Location: Tysons Corner, VA (Remote)

Clearance: Active IRS MBI Clearance required

About the Role
Sky Solutions is seeking an experienced Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) to support modernization efforts within the IRS. The ideal candidate will provide architectural leadership, lead solution design, ensure alignment with enterprise standards, and guide development teams in delivering scalable, secure Pega applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and architecture for complex Pega applications supporting IRS initiatives
• Translate business needs into robust Pega technical solutions
• Establish Pega best practices, guardrails, coding standards, and reusable frameworks
• Oversee system integration design (APIs, microservices, legacy systems)
• Conduct design reviews, performance tuning, and technical optimization
• Mentor and guide Pega developers (CSSAs, CSAs)
• Partner with IRS stakeholders, business analysts, and technical leads
• Ensure compliance with Federal IT, security, and accessibility requirements

Required Qualifications

• Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) - mandatory
• Active IRS MBI Clearance - required for consideration
• 10+ years of IT experience; 6+ years of hands-on Pega implementation experience
• Proven architecture experience on large, enterprise Pega programs
• Strong experience with Pega integrations (REST, SOAP, Kafka, JMS, etc.)
• Background in Agile/Scrum delivery
• Experience supporting federal government programs (IRS preferred)

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with AWS or cloud-hosted Pega environments
• Knowledge of IRS systems or other federal financial systems
• DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines for Pega
• Experience leading multi-team/multi-vendor environments
