Summary:
Efficiently and courteously obtains information to register patients in the clinical management system to assure accurate and complete demographic and payer information. Performs associated clerical duties including obtaining signatures for patient consent, verifying insurance information, generation of point of service bills, etc. Will complete other duties/task as assigned

EDUCATION
HS diploma required. AS in Medical Office Technology, Health Information Technology, or related degree preferred. Completion of Medical terminology course preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in customer service/reception preferred. Medical office experience preferred .
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
None required .
OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess excellent customer relation skills and is a team player. Basic computer skills. Typing speed of 45 wpm Ability to prioritize work during peak volumes Ability to use calculator and perform simple math.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Limited exposure to blood borne and air borne pathogens requiring minimal use of protective equipment. Limited radiation exposure due to use of VDT when registering patients. Stressful work due to fast paced environment (ER) and rotation of shifts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Basically sedentary with some walking to other areas of the hospital. Ability to lift 30 pounds and reach heights of at least 5 feet.
