Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Associate degree from a regionally accredited college.
WORK EXPERIENCE:One year of administrative, secretarial, or clerical work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor degree from a regionally accredited university with a focus on Business or Entrepreneurship.
WORK EXPERIENCE:Three years of administrative, secretarial, or clerical work experience.
Essential Duties
Under the direction of the Director of the SBC, the SBC Program Assistant works cooperatively with BCCC faculty/staff as follows:
• Coordinate class and seminar set-up and manage and maintain electronic and hard copy program records/files.
• Complete class setup forms in a timely fashion and report seminar results in the client management system.
• Prepare instructor packets with appropriate forms, including registrations, evaluations, handouts, and SBC marketing information.
- Prepare and disseminate instructor contracts.
• Manage seminar registration process and send reminder communication to seminar participants.
• Assist in marketing Small Business Center offerings and services, including emails, newsletters, social media, outreach events, distribution, publication advertisements, etc.
• Manage SBC resource library, maintaining list of library assets and tracking items loaned to clients. Follow-up on non-returned materials; report lost/unrecoverable items to Director.
• Assist Director with annual SBC report and other administrative duties as needed. Adhere to state SBC guidelines as established by Small Business Center network and State Director.
• Represent SBC in a positive, professional manner. Communicate with and assist SBC clients via phone and email.
• Handle SBC office operations, including maintaining office supplies, and ordering supplies and equipment as directed.
• Provide outstanding internal and external customer service to customers, clients, and colleagues.
• Work with others in an office environment. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations in support of SBC goals.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve periodically working irregular hours.
• Prepare reports, mail, data and other documents as necessary.
• Ensure confidentiality in all matters.
• Maintain strong organizational skills and be timely.
• Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor.
• Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner
• Comply with the college's policies and procedures as outlined in the Faculty and Staff Policy Manual
• Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor

Estimated Hours per Week
Up to 25 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Range
$15.00 - $22.00/hour, based on the College's salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
