Job Title: Sr. Mfg Equipment Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Sr. Mfg Equipment Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in the Manufacturing Engineering group by maintaining, calibrating, and repairing laboratory equipment. This position involves participating in process improvements, 8-step kaizen events, 5S, and JDI technical writing. Additionally, the role includes representing the group in ongoing projects and researching and ordering parts/tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair on a variety of manufacturing and testing instrumentation.

  • Carry out routine repairs on a daily basis.

  • Provide technical support to internal customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.

  • Work independently and prioritize work schedule of service calls, PMs, and projects; may require direction from Lead or Supervisor sporadically.

  • Maintain own tool inventory to ensure adequate supply to perform duties.

  • Collaborate with the team and administrator to ensure an adequate supply of spare parts in stockroom; specify and request purchase of components.

  • Perform all administrative duties including documenting maintenance and repair calls in SAP and completing required documentation and reports.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and practices.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with Field Service or In-House Service.

  • Experience with DNA/RNA Synthesizers; examples include ABI 3900, 394, BioAutomation, Mermade, Dr. Oligo.

  • Robotic experience is required; platforms include Starlet, Agilent Bravo, Tecan Evo and Genesis, Biomek FX and NX.

  • Experience with handling hazardous materials and waste.

  • Experience with pneumatic instruments.

  • Experience with vacuum systems.

  • Familiarity with general handheld tools, multi-meters, and other electronic test equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
