As a Bookkeeping Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records for our clients at H&R Block. You will record and report financial information while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Receive and organize operational data for efficient entry into the bookkeeping system, ensuring accurate recording of income, expenses, returned checks, bank charges, and labor hours/codes.
Guarantee that all checks are properly endorsed and deposited into the correct account daily, while also managing charge card transactions and accurately reporting all income.
Balance and reconcile ledgers as part of the client's general ledger system, ensuring cash and bank accounts are reconciled according to agreed-upon standards.
Prepare comprehensive reports regularly for business clients, covering aspects such as business income, expenses, gross taxes, and any additional information as needed.
Provide payroll services upon request, including preparation of payroll checks and all necessary employee and employer payroll reports in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.
Manage a manual filing system for hard-copy documents after data entry, ensuring organized record-keeping.
Proactively identify process improvement opportunities, communicating any concerns and suggested solutions to both management and clients.
Participate in ongoing meetings and training sessions to enhance the bookkeeping services provided to clients.
Attend training focused on improving job performance and efficiency.
Perform any additional duties as assigned.
