General Function

The Office Assistant - Human Resources (Part-time) provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department. This role assists with a wide range of HR functions, events, and systems to ensure efficient and effective departmental operations.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • An associate degree from an institution accredited by a federally recognized accreditor is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Prior office experience preferred
  • Must possess excellent public relations, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Working Conditions:
  • Typical office environment including use of telephone, computer, printer, copier, facsimile machine, and calculator
  • Sitting at a desk for long periods of time with a moderate amount of standing, walking, and keyboarding
  • Some lifting and carrying of weight up to 10 pounds
  • Some traveling with occasional overnight stay may also be required
  • Some evening and/or weekend duties may be required on or off campus
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The duties of the Office Assistant - Human Resources (Part-time) include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with the preparation of adjunct and off-load contracts
  • Reserve rooms as needed using the AdAstra system
  • Provide coverage for the reception area as needed
  • Support employee appreciation and HR sponsored events
  • Process and manage purchase order requests as needed
  • Provide support in coordinating and managing professional development sessions
  • Assist with maintaining and managing the applicant tracking system (NeoGov)
  • Support Affordable Care Act (ACA) records maintenance and monitoring
  • Communicate with the public regarding position announcements and application process
  • Assist with processing employment verification requests
  • Cross train across all Human Resources functions
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
