We are hiring for an EHS Specialist for a client in Greensboro. The ideal candidate will have SAP experience, Associates or Bachelors in Safety or Environmental Science, and 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our organization. This role is vital in promoting a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment across manufacturing operations. The EHS Specialist will develop, implement, and oversee safety programs, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and workers' compensation laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in occupational health, safety training, report writing, root cause analysis, and emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of manufacturing facilities to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Lead incident investigations by performing root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Facilitate safety training sessions for employees on topics such as OSHA standards, workers' compensation law, first aid, CPR, and hazard communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, inspections, and training activities for reporting purposes.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness plans and ensure readiness for potential incidents or environmental concerns.
  • Support the organization's occupational health initiatives by monitoring exposure levels and implementing control measures.
  • Assist in the development of report writing documentation for regulatory submissions and internal audits.
  • Collaborate with management to foster a culture of safety through ongoing training & development programs.
  • Stay current with evolving EHS regulations and industry trends to ensure continuous compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and EPA standards.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation law procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Certification or training in first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and incident investigations effectively.
  • Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail for documentation purposes.
  • Familiarity with occupational health principles and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively train staff and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to interpret environmental data and implement appropriate controls.
