Position Summary
1. Installs and maintains wall systems.
2 .Installs and maintains door and window systems.
3. Installs and maintains ceiling and roof systems.
4. Installs and maintains door hardware.
5. Installs and maintains floor systems.
6. Builds, installs, and maintains cabinets and other
structures.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Uses tools of the trade to install and maintain wall systems.
Is able to read blueprints, specifications, manuals, and other appropriate literature, and to interpret and implement requirements for achieving desired results.
Requires basic carpentry skills to install wall studs, dry wall, including anchoring, and securing for safety and rigidity. Installs handrails, and other devices for protection of the facility and to maintain the aesthetics of the environment.
Maintains wall systems, appurtenances, and structures in accordance with acceptable standards and practices.
Uses tools of the trade to install and maintain door and window systems in walls, and other support structures.
Requires basic carpentry skills to install doors and windows that are plumb, square, level, and secure for safety and rigidity.
Uses tools of the trade to install and maintain ceilings and roof systems, as appropriate.
Requires basic carpentry skills to install an or repair ceiling grid and tile.
Assist with troubleshooting and repairing defects in roofing systems including flashing, scuppers, vents, and other roofing penetrations.
Uses tools of the trade to build, install, and maintain floor systems.
Tasks may include, but not limited to, the addition
and replacement of floor tile and baseboard, walkways, platforms, ladders, ramps (wood and concrete), steps, safety rails, and other structures to promote safe travelsurfaces for staff, patients, and visitors.
Uses tools of the trade to install and maintain door hardware.
Tasks may include, but not be limited to, the installation and adjustment of closers, panic hardware, latching mechanisms, locksets, kick plates, astragals, floor sweeps, etc.
May be called upon from time to time to assist in areas outside of main job responsibilities.
Tasks may include non-carpentry related requests, and may not be limited to, emergency responses, support to other departments during moves, and or relocation's, and manpower assistance to other Plant Operations' Divisions. Assists with achieving departmental and hospital goals and objectives as necessary.
Uses tools of the trade to build, install, and maintain cabinets and other structures.
Tasks may include, but not be limited to, storage cabinets, work tables, bins, boxes, frames, bulletin boards, Rehab related needs, and other items to protect, secure, and to promote orderliness and organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (or higher) required.
3 to 4 years related experience required.
Valid NC Drivers License is required in Facilities Services Department at ECU Health Medical Center.
Pay Range
$22.42 - $32.68
