Custodian NE Administration-101

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non?profit, faith?based organization, is seeking a part?time Custodian for the Greenville Corps in Greenville, NC.

Job Summary

The Custodian cleans the Corps building to ensure daily neatness and cleanliness, monitors light fixtures, replaces bulbs as needed, keeps grounds clean and free of trash, operates a ride mower, push mower and edger, sets up meeting rooms with tables and chairs, cleans meeting areas after meetings, uses appropriate chemicals safely, follows instructions, works well with others, drives Salvation Army vehicles for food pick?ups or other errands, and performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• General maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds.
• Follow instructions and work independently.
• Read and communicate in English.
• Ability to use a ride mower, push mower and edger.
• Proper use of cleaning chemicals.
• Driving a Salvation Army vehicle.

Education and Experience

• No formal education required.
• Six (6) months experience in general housekeeping duties.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable.

Certifications

Valid State Drivers License.

Physical Requirements

Meet attendance requirements; exert physical energy required for housekeeping and minor maintenance work; continuous walking, stooping, standing, climbing; lift 35 to 75 pounds; normal office environment with occasional outdoor temperatures, dirt, dust, and disagreeable sights and odors.
