Store Supervisor

Schedule/Hours: M Sat. 9:30 am 5:30 pm (35 hours per week)

This position is responsible for:

Supervising and participating in the day-to-day operations of the Family Store and warehouse ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; ensuring the accountability and security of cashier funds; maintaining the neatness and attractiveness of store merchandise ensuring that displays remain well-stocked; assisting customers in locating items and prices and explaining store policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and participating in the cashier's activities ensuring that all customers are treated in a polite and friendly manner.
  • Assisting customers in locating items and prices; assisting customers with donating items; explaining store policy and ensuring compliance with the same.
  • Supervising and participating in maintaining the store displays; arranging, rotating, and re-stocking displayed items to ensure the displays remain in a plentiful, neat and orderly manner for customer convenience and store attractiveness.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and filing various store reports, records, forms, etc.; ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the same.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Works is performed in a normal store environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather.

What We Are Looking For In You:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D AND
  • One year experience working in a retail store preferably a Salvation Army Family Store with some experience supervising the work of co-workers, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
