Description

A DSD Receivers' job involves accepting and processing products delivered directly to a retail store from vendors. Key responsibilities include checking shipments for accuracy against purchase orders, ensuring product quality, logging deliveries into the inventory system, and properly stocking the products. The role requires physical work, attention to detail, strong communication skills for dealing with vendors and store staff, and the ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.

Duties

  • Receiving and checking shipments: Accept deliveries, compare them to invoices and purchase orders, and verify quantities and quality with the vendor present.
  • Inventory management: Log new products into the store's inventory system and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Problem resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies or damages in shipments, communicating with vendors and store management to correct errors.
  • Stocking and organization: Unload products, stock shelves, rotate stock, and maintain a clean and organized receiving area and back stock.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies and procedures, safety regulations, and vendor-specific guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Physical ability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods, and the ability to operate equipment like pallet jacks.
  • Basic math and computer skills: Proficiency in basic math and the ability to use computer systems, including scanning and inventory software.
  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors, store managers, and other associates.
  • Detail-oriented: Ability to maintain accurate records and pay close attention to detail to avoid errors.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Typical work environment: Primarily in a retail store environment, often in the receiving or back stock areas.
  • May involve exposure to varying temperatures, slippery floors, or other conditions associated with loading docks and storage areas.
  • Logging and disposing of known loss daily
