The School of Dental Medicine is an approximately $49 million enterprise, including state, auxiliary, research and foundation funds, that educates future dental leaders and provides oral healthcare to the citizens in North Carolina. The So. DM has the largest footprint of any ECU college/school across the state and provides oral healthcare in multiple locations, including Ross Hall, ECU Health, Ahoskie, Elizabeth City, Bolivia, Lillington, Spruce Pine, Sylva, Lumberton, Davidson County, Hyde County, Bertie County and Jones County. The So. DM provides care for more than 80,000 patients visits per year across these multiple locations. The So. DM also graduates over 50 Doctors of Dental Medicine each year along with approximately 32 residents. The So. DM is composed of over 375 faculty and staff that support the educational, clinical, research and service mission of the school.
