Assisting a Fulltime Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical engineering expertise in the area of mechanical design, hydraulics, drivetrains, motors, simulation analysis, or engineering testing procedures. Assist in the design and development of innovative forklifts and material handling equipment focusing on one of the following: Mechanical Design - Create layouts of proposed design ensuring that designs are functional, safe, reliable, serviceable, manufacturable, cost effective and esthetically and ergonomically correct. Select appropriate materials, organize bill of materials data and approve detail drawings. Hydraulics - Propose hydraulic systems to satisfy vehicle performance and reliability goals. Develop specifications to meet goals, design systems, and specify components. Oversee design activities necessary to develop, prototype, and launch an approved system and components.
