Job Description Summary

As part of GE Vernova Wind Engineering, the Blade subsystem team has responsibility for the design and support of wind blade components and systems. As the Technical Leader – Wind Turbine Blade Repair, you are responsible for the overall technical development and deployment of blade repair specifications and methods in service as well as in production. You will provide technical leadership for development, industrialization, and validation of blade repair methods. You will partner with production line to develop blade repair strategies to ensure turbine availability and performance.

This role partners closely with design engineering, services, manufacturing, quality to improve blade reliability, reduce downtime, and standardize repair excellence globally. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of blade repair processes both in the fleet and in production. You will collaborate cross functionally to develop and implement repair solutions into field service and plant production teams.

This position requires technical proficiency and adept problem-solving skills while developing fundamental capabilities for organizational advancement.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product line to develop and execute blade repair solutions for the fleet, with the goal of maximizing turbine availability, performance, and business outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership in the development of innovative blade repair methods and technologies including material selection, process qualification and validation to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of repair solutions.
  • Translate development results into scalable, standard processes and technical specifications.
  • Partner with Services to pilot and scale methods on operating turbines; with Manufacturing to embed repairs in factory rework processes.
  • Develop blade repair technical specifications and methods in service and production. Define and/or approve repair best practice.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, industry standards and regulations in all repair activities. Stay informed and participate in relevant industry regulations, Intellectual Property and standards committees to influence the outcome of regulations and standards.

Qualification / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, or related field).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience including hands‑on experience in composite structure repair or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of composite materials, structures, and repair techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 50% of the time.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in wind turbine blade services and factory rework environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, technicians, and operators.
  • Track record of curiosity and a strong passion for identifying and turning new ideas, technologies, and methodologies into product differentiated outcomes.
  • Demonstrating analytical problem‑solving skills utilizing tools such as failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), RCA 8D process, etc.
  • Knowledge of wind turbine industry standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to individuals at all levels of the organization while ensuring transparency and gaining alignment with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Experience with coaching, mentoring, and developing technical engineering talent to guide their professional growth and career advancement.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $185,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: ineligible.
