Your role and responsibilities

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional passionate about sustainability, regulatory compliance, and employee well-being. You will assist in data collection, analysis, reporting, and coordination of compliance activities under the guidance of experienced IBM Supply Chain professionals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Monitor updates to local and global regulations and assist in impact assessments.
  • Help maintain documentation for regulatory submissions and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data for sustainability and waste management initiatives.
  • Participate in training sessions and awareness campaigns related to safety and environmental standards. Maintain education packages for internal or external teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in compliance and safety processes.
Required education

High School Diploma/GED

Preferred education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail. Willingness to learn and apply data analysis tools.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Internship or academic project experience in environmental compliance or occupational health and safety.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS Modeler, Excel Pivot Tables & Power Query).
  • Certifications or coursework in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or OSHA standards.
  • Experience with Python, SQL.
  • Basic understanding of process optimization principles (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement).

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
