The Veteran Affairs Coordinator has contact with current, previous & potential students seeking to utilize and maintain their benefits. Contact with incoming students to set up or apply for benefits and assist them with the entire process depending on their benefit type(s). Contact with parents and students concerning benefit information, being careful to follow all FERPA guidelines. Contact with various departments on campus including, but not limited to, student accounting, cashier, financial aid, and individual colleges. Public contact may take place on a walk-in basis, phone, email or printed mail correspondence from the above public contacts. Participation in military orientation sessions in the summer and open house sessions are also occasionally required. Duties and Responsibilities: The Veterans Affairs Coordinator must complete annual VA training requirements in order to be approved as a certifying official for the school.
