Responsibilities
  • Supervise multiple teams of examiners and technical operations staff for liability claims, monitor workloads, provide training, and offer technical/jurisdictional direction on examiner reports and claim adjudication.
  • Identify trends and issues, advise management, propose continuous process improvements, and coordinate with management projects for the office.
  • Review and analyze management reports; perform quality reviews to ensure compliance with audit, service contract, and quality standards.
  • Act as second level of appeal for client and claimant issues; implement final disposition of the appeal.
  • Review reserve amounts on high-cost claims and claims beyond the authority of individual examiners; monitor third-party claims and certain high-risk or sensitive claims as determined by the client.
  • Maintain client contact, promote professional relationships, and provide written summaries of specific claims as requested by the client.
  • Ensure direct reports are properly licensed in the jurisdictions serviced and that claims files are coded correctly with adequate documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and support the organizations quality program(s).
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Administer company personnel policies, follow staffing standards and training recommendations.
  • Interview, hire, and establish performance development plans; conduct performance discussions.
  • Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance.
Qualifications & Licensing
Education & Experience

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Licenses as required. Professional certifications as applicable to the line of business preferred.

Experience

Six (6) years of claims experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including two (2) years claims supervisor experience.
