Job Description:

Summary: Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a Courseware Developer to join our innovative team at The Unconventional. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement engaging courseware materials that enhance learning experiences and drive knowledge retention among our diverse audience. Your expertise in instructional design and technology will play a pivotal role in shaping our educational offerings.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct needs analysis to identify learning objectives and target audience requirements
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and insights for course development
  • Create interactive and engaging course materials, including e-learning modules, assessments, and instructor-led training resources
  • Utilize instructional design principles and best practices to ensure alignment with adult learning theories
  • Incorporate multimedia elements and technology tools to enhance the learning experience
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of courseware through feedback and assessments, making data-driven improvements as needed
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in educational technology to continuously innovate course offerings

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in courseware development or instructional design
  • Proficient in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Experience in creating assessments and evaluating learning outcomes

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and course delivery platforms
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) for multimedia content creation
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines in courseware development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
  • Experience with HTML/CSS for basic web-based course development
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools to assess learning effectiveness

Compensation & Benefits: Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. provides an outstanding benefits package that enhances the well-being of our employees and their families. The annual salary is anticipated to be GS-11 equivalent. This package includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision, disability, and life in addition to a paid time off program that includes eleven paid Federal holidays, vacation accrual based on years of service, sick leave accrual, and a 401(k) plan with company match. Should the employee decide to enroll in any benefits, any remaining health and welfare dollars after premiums are satisfied will be deposited into a 401(k) as a qualified non-elective contribution.
