The Department of Surgerys Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking to fill a full-time Research Specialist position to serve as the Tumor Procurement Specialist. The tumor procurement specialist is vital to the function of an active tumor bank. This position collects fresh tissue from surgical specimens to ensure timely and proper processing. The position is also charged with data management in relation to the tumor bank. The position will procure and prepare for distribution samples of malignant and non-malignant tissue and blood products from operating rooms and pathology suites following policies and procedures for such collection, storage, processing and distribution as set up by the Tissue Procurement and Analysis Core Facility. Minimum Education/ Experience Bachelors degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
