Job Description

AECOM is seeking a well-qualified Traffic or ITS Engineer to work remotely supporting many different offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest. Responsibilities
  • Support a team of professionals to deliver:
  • Traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
  • Plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations and other project documentation.
  • ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process.
  • Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects.
  • Actively participate in the teams production of technical deliverables ranging from plans, specifications, estimates, reports, memorandums, etc.
  • Work with Early in Career staff and help review technical work and project documentation.
  • Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards.
  • Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, as well as with external clients and sub-consultants.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education; Professional Engineering (PE) License or Professional Traffic Operations Engineering (PTOE) License.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Preferred minimum 7 years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, traffic staging within Agency and DOT standards and projects; Good written and verbal communication skills; Experience using Traffic and Traffic Simulation Software and design platforms; Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required; Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $100000 to $160000.
