Electrical Assistant Project Manager

Description:

We are seeking an Electrical Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of mission-critical data center projects in North Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Electrical Engineers or Project Engineers who have worked extensively on complex, large-scale data center builds and are looking to transition into project management.

You do not need to already be in an APM role to apply, whats essential is several years of hands-on experience in electrical construction for data centers or other mission-critical facilities, coupled with a strong understanding of how to execute projects safely, on time, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and organization of projects under the direction of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
  • Coordinate daily project activities, including scheduling, task tracking, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients to evaluate project scope, schedules, and required resources.
  • Assist in preparing detailed estimates by reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documentation.
  • Help define project objectives, performance metrics, and reporting requirements.
  • Track project progress and work closely with field supervisors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Monitor and support the management of project budgets, billing, expenses, and profitability.
  • Assist in identifying risks, developing solutions, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support the preparation and negotiation of change orders and project documentation.
  • Represent the company in project meetings, maintaining professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar role on mission-critical projects (data centers strongly preferred).
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems in large-scale construction environments.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management or estimating software is a plus.
  • Background with an electrical contractor or demonstrated experience in electrical construction environments.
  • Hyperscale data center project experience is a strong plus.
  • Collaborative and motivated mindset, with a desire to grow into full project management responsibilities.
