Job Description
ECU Department of Career Services is currently seeking several Career Peers Front Desk Assistants.
SCOPE OF POSITION
Students hired for this position will work in two functions; student experience expert and outreach specialist. As a student experience expert, Career Peers will be trained to develop and maintain in-depth awareness of the wide-range of programs and services offered through Career Service's main office, its multiple satellite locations, and web resources. Career Peers will regularly use this knowledge to effectively answer questions, concerns, or requests that come in at the main office's front desk, whether through in-person visits, email or incoming phone calls from students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff. The majority of the student experience role will involve managing the walk-in program, answering phones, and checking students/alumni in for appointments as they arrive. During down-time, in the office, Career Peers will also enter collected survey data and assist with office projects.
Career Peers will also serve as outreach specialists to promote Career Services to the campus community through presentations and peer to peer outreach. Career Peers will serve as a Career Services student representative at university-sponsored events. Upon completion of training and demonstrated skill development, Career Peers will deliver presentations to student organizations and residence halls on Career Services programs and resources. Career Peers will also assist in Career Services special events, activities, programs or day to day operations.
