Standards Management Director

Overview

Anticipated Vacancy: This position is anticipated and open for candidacy as part of the Standards Management department. The department coordinates and oversees administrative and critical functions of Quality Improvement and Risk Management, Staff Development, Management Investigations, and Client Information Services. Responsibilities include the overall direction and management of the facility-wide activities described below.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the certification and survey processes including Health and Sanitation Inspections and recertification and complaint surveys through the ICF IID program.
  • Ensure compliance with the Patient Safety Organization, including data entry and reporting, and identify system issues impacting client safety.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory mandates impacting administrative policies and procedures.
  • Oversight of the program to ensure HIPAA and other privacy initiatives with DHHS compliance.
  • Liaison for cases involving risk management and safety concerns.
  • Lead special projects as assigned by the Center Director.

Work Hours

Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated managerial experience with residential/institutional developmental disabilities programs and services, and sound knowledge of ICF/IID regulations and certification processes and governing body mandates.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients, families, advocates, stakeholders, community leaders, and external supports such as surveyors/auditors and public safety.
  • High levels of confidentiality, ethics, and strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong planning, organizing, problem solving, and ability to independently prioritize and manage time.
  • Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical abilities with data and investigatory information; strong written communication skills.

Management Preferences

  • Experience in Risk Management and/or Quality Management/Improvement Services.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with a Patient Safety Organization and Patient Safety Management System.

Education & Experience Requirements

Master's degree in social sciences, business administration, or communications from an accredited institution and four years of supervisory or consultative experience in the relevant human services program; or
Bachelor's degree in the same fields and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
