Electrical Engineer

We are actively seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team, focusing on power distribution and enhancing electrical safety across various operations. This role is pivotal in leading continuous improvement efforts within our technical team and ensuring plant reliability. With a dynamic mix of legacy and cutting-edge electrical infrastructure, this position offers an unparalleled opportunity to make impactful changes and advancements. You will work intimately with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical drives, and instrumentation, providing crucial support in maintenance, troubleshooting, and strategic planning to uphold our commitment to innovation and safety.

Compensation: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide engineering support for power distribution for all manufacturing processes, including medium and low voltage systems.
  • Develop and maintain electrical standards for site safety and efficiency.
  • Champion the enhancement of our electrical safety culture.
  • Collaborate with local utility companies concerning high voltage supplies and issues.
  • Handle troubleshooting for control issues across operations alongside the electrical team.
  • Assess and plan upgrades for substations and motor control center infrastructures over a 5-year strategic period.
  • Engage in electrical design for site capital projects while ensuring compliance with all applicable local and national standards.
  • Drive reliability programs pertaining to electrical equipment, developing maintenance and preventative procedures.
  • Administer and update the arc flash analysis and coordination settings for electrical safety.
  • Lead failure analysis for any issues related to site power distribution systems.
  • Utilize and interpret NEC, local electrical codes, and NFPA codes to inform practices and ensure safety compliance.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in plant manufacturing settings.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding electrical and instrumentation drawings, including schematics and logic diagrams.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving power distribution problems using drawings, diagnostic data, and field observations.
  • Capable of sizing and specifying electrical installations and equipment for site upgrades.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of performing safe and effective electrical work in an industrial environment.
  • Strong familiarity with PLCs and single-loop controllers.
  • Deep understanding of safety interlocks, process flow diagrams, and PFD calculations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical standards and Process Safety Management (PSM) practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at working collaboratively across teams.
  • Capability to mentor and guide site electrical personnel effectively.
  • Experience supporting diagnostics in substations and familiar with high resistance ground systems.
