The Credentialing and Privileging Officer (CPO) performs primary source verification on all critical documents, either in writing or verbally with outside agencies, such as the NC State Board of Dental Examiners, to insure the authenticity of credentials and is the So. DMs point of contact on required reporting of adverse disciplinary actions or sanctions, at the express case-by-case direction of the CPC. Efficient and effective public contact requires a familiarity of other agency contacts and processes as well as regular communication with in-house stakeholders in various aspects of the credentialing and privileging process. The CPOs objective is to have new faculty members fully credentialed and privileged to provide and/or supervise clinical services in So.
