Position: Community & Economic Development Director

Summary

The Community & Economic Development Director performs complex professional work in developing and directing community and economic development activities within the county. The role supports existing businesses and industries, recruits new ones, conducts market research, and acts as a liaison between business, industry, and various regulatory agencies at local, regional, state, and federal levels.

This position involves working across diverse community development areas, including:

• Consumer food access and food security
• Justice-involved populations
• Educational attainment
• Healthcare access
• Workforce development
• Poverty reduction

The Director oversees two staff members: the Economic Development Specialist and the Community Development Manager. Work is performed under the general supervision of the County Manager.
