Location: Remote Hybrid - New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida
Travel: Business Travel Required

Overview: The Vice President of Risk Management will develop and lead enterprise-wide risk strategies tailored to the affordable housing industry, focusing on property management safety, regulatory compliance (including LHITC, Section 8, HUD), and effective claim management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Risk Management Department, including insurance, claims, loss prevention, and contract review.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants on risk issues.
- Participate in leadership committees addressing risk management.
- Manage the risk management budget and develop management tools and reports.
- Communicate risk policies and procedures effectively, including via a dedicated website.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Oversee environmental programs, hazard identification, and risk reporting.
- Develop risk-financing strategies, including insurance procurement and captive management.
- Manage claims processes and participate in insurance litigation strategies.
- Coordinate with departments to implement corrective actions.
- Review and improve risk management information systems.
- Lead enterprise risk management initiatives across the company.
- Manage risk management staff, including hiring and performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years of relevant experience in affordable housing risk management, including insurance policy administration.
- Deep knowledge of risk management principles: loss control, safety, workers compensation, asset protection.
- Expertise in Captive Insurance, underwriting, and claims management.
- Strong research, data analysis, and reporting skills.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, ERM, or related field; ARM certification preferred.
Compensation: $175,000 - $185,000 plus benefits, including health insurance, 401K, PTO, and more.
