Plant Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity to join a global leader in manufacturing as a Plant Project Engineer, based in our expanding engineering group. This position is pivotal in supporting our manufacturing plants through equipment upgrades, continuous improvements, and significant building expansions. Salary: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze manufacturing capacities and the need to upgrade facilities and equipment to meet regulatory requirements and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and enhance plant proposals, devising cost-effective solutions, and preparing and submitting requests for the implementation of selected solutions.
  • Prepare and submit requests for both major and minor equipment replacements and additions coordinating seamlessly with plant operations.
  • Manage the lifecycle of selected equipment upgrades and new installations, from initial concept, basic engineering to final commissioning.
  • Oversee project budgets and schedules, ensuring seamless integration of project activities with maintenance turnarounds.
  • Monitor and address repetitive manufacturing issues by determining root causes and initiating necessary equipment or procedural changes to mitigate problems.
  • Develop and approve critical production and maintenance documentation, including procedures, JSAs, and change requests.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with over 5 years of experience as a Capital Project Engineer in manufacturing settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting within a plant environment.
  • Diverse knowledge across disciplinary engineering projects such as mechanical, chemical, electrical, and civil.
  • Experience in managing projects with budgets exceeding $1 million.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Prior experience in leading cross-functional teams in a multinational company.
  • Strong familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Experience in sustainable and environmentally-friendly manufacturing practices.
Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage team interactions and stakeholder expectations.
  • Advanced user of Project Management software and tools like MS Project or equivalent.
  • Capability to design and interpret technical plans and drawings.
  • Adaptable and proactive in dynamic environments.
