The Director of Alumni Affairs is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Alumni Relations program designed to increase alumni engagement and support of the university's strategic plan. The Director will build stronger ties among alumni and the university, accomplished by a wide variety of programming and direction to the National Alumni Association and Board of Trustees, regional alumni chapters and other volunteer leaders. The goals of alumni affairs are directly tied to Advancement and Institutional goals. Successful alumni relations and lifelong engagement will be partially measured through increased support of the Saint Augustine's Endowment Fund, goals around donor participation and retention, participation of leadership volunteers, and increased on-campus presence attributed to alumni programs and outreach.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Saint Augustine's University (SAU), drawing on its rich legacy as an access institution, is a student-focused, comprehensive educational institution that produces outstanding graduates prepared for personal and professional success. SAU was established in 1867 in Raleigh, NC by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. A four-year liberal arts university with an average enrollment of approximately 1,000, SAU sits on 105 lush acres just north of Downtown Raleigh, NC. The institution offers more than 20 undergraduate degrees and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3 years related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree and experience in a higher education alumni affairs environment preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends, as well as some travel. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials for alumni and campus event set-up. Requires sitting, stooping, bending, and some lifting up to 20 lbs.
