Director of Threat Assessment and Case Management

Salary: $95,000 - $125,000

Description:

The Department of Campus Safety & Auxiliary Services encompasses various departments committed to enhancing campus safety and managing auxiliary services efficiently.

The Violence Prevention and Threat Management unit manages the university workplace violence program, coordinates the University Behavioral Concerns Team (UBCT), conducts training and threat assessments, and manages cases involving individuals posing an imminent threat or safety risk to the campus community.

Job Duties:

  1. Oversee the university's Workplace Violence program and coordinate the UBCT.
  2. Conduct training, threat assessments, and manage cases involving imminent threats.
  3. Supervise a Violence Prevention and Threat Management case manager and Youth Programs and Compliance coordinator.
  4. Develop and manage strategic and operational plans for threat assessment and management.
  5. Collaborate on a concern reporting form for referrals and conduct preliminary threat assessments.
  6. Serve as chair of the UBCT and coordinate training for team members.
  7. Oversee operational threat assessment and intervention for individuals posing a threat.
  8. Manage sensitive information and maintain accurate records.
  9. Educate and train the University community on reporting and behavioral intervention topics.
  10. Coordinate with external agencies and law enforcement as necessary.

Requirements:

Minimums:

  1. Master's degree in social work, behavioral health, criminal justice, or a related field with five years of post-graduate experience in higher education.
  2. At least three years of progressively responsible experience in threat assessment and case management.
  3. At least three years of supervisory experience.
  4. Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  5. Experience managing cases and projects independently.
  6. Knowledge of legal issues in higher education.

Preferred:

  1. Doctorate degree in social work, behavioral health, criminal justice, or a related field.
  2. Relevant threat assessment certifications.
  3. University experience with knowledge of academic rules and regulations.
  4. Significant experience with crisis and threat management.
