**ANTICIPATED VACANCY**
**Position will be located at either the Charlotte or Morganton Assistive Technology Center.**
Position includes oversight of all personal and community activities within the Western Region. The individual will assist the Assistive Technology Program Manager in developing and implementing processes and procedures, managing data elements, and ensuring that both federal and state objectives are met within the assistive technology program. AT Center Management will include supervision of regional staff.
Additional duties include:
- Overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the Charlotte, Morganton, and Sylva centers while providing support and direction to the staff within those locations.
- Strategically organize the utilization of the center and its resources to benefit the community.
- Manage a regional budget allocated for equipment purchases aimed at enhancing the Charlotte, Sylva, and Morganton centers.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable state and federal policies and procedures related to the administration of western center supervision, including guidelines for personnel, fiscal management, and procurement.
- Support the planning and supervision of community events hosted by NCATP throughout the western region of the state.
- Contribute to the development of NCATP processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with state policies.
- Identify and facilitate staff training opportunities at local, regional, and state levels.
- Collaborate with the Rehabilitation Program Manager to identify key local, regional, and statewide partners in the area of assistive technology training, services, and implementation.
Assistive Technology Technical Assistance:
- Provide technical assistance and consultative services related to assistive technology for individuals with disabilities, their families, employers, professionals, caregivers, and other residents of North Carolina.
- Extensive technical expertise will be offered to professionals, employers, university staff, local service delivery programs, educational institutions, agencies, consumers, and the public.
- Technical skills will be applied to address and develop solutions for complex consumer technology needs within the rapidly advancing field of assistive technology.

- Device demonstrations
- Device loans
- Device consultations
- General knowledge and awareness of assistive technology devices and services
- Transitional assistance
- Assessments and training (fee-based)
- Consultant services (fee-based)
- Train-the-trainer programs (fee-based)
Data Collection and Reporting:- Ensure that all federal and state data is collected across the western region and entered within established timelines.
- Analyze the data to identify areas for improvement and collaborate with the Program Director to determine necessary resources, partners, and opportunities for developing program objectives and goals.
- Provide supervision and guidance to all staff in the western region, including administrative and professional personnel, regarding data collection and reporting processes.
Outreach/Partnerships/Marketing:- Supervise and implement outreach activities within the local region related to assistive technology services and the federal program.
- Conduct community development initiatives to enhance assistive technology and augmentative communication (AAC) services.
- Collaborate with other professionals, agencies, and programs to ensure the most effective service delivery to consumers.
- Engage in regional and statewide events, including annual resource fairs and the statewide Assistive Technology Expo.
- Provide outreach activities in the local region regarding AT services and the federal AT Act program.
- Conduct community development activities to expand assistive technology and AAC services.
- Coordinate with other professionals, agencies and programs in providing the most effective delivery service to consumers.

Qualified applicants must possess, and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:
- Experience in and knowledge of assistive technology devices, services and delivery. This may include the area of augmentative communication.
- Direct experience working with people with disabilities, aging, or experiencing medical limitations.
- Previous management and supervision experience is preferred.
Management preference will be given to applicants with:- Experience in providing effective communication in written and oral environments.
- Experience in providing augmentative communication and/or assistive technology evaluations/assessments, training and recommendations.
