Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Tarboro NC, USA

The Manufacturing Engineer position will be responsible for improving the effectiveness of the workforce by developing and implementing process improvement projects and developing standard processing procedures in the plant.

Job Summary:

  • Design, implementation and startup of these control systems
  • Computer/PLC/HMI programming
  • Support countermeasure actions and work to resolve line downtime.
  • Complete and track progress on efficiency improvement projects.
  • Project Management for new model implementation.
  • Structured problem solving and statistical process improvement methodologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications:

Knowledge skills and abilities:
  • Promote and carry out the Hitachi Core Values.
  • Critical Thinking –Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of problems/processes finding alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to these issues.
  • Problem Solving - Reviewing related information to identifying problems, develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate outcome.
  • Collaborations with different job functions and levels of management.
  • Analyze data and find insights to improve operations.
Education:
  • 4-Year college degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or similar curriculum of study.
Experience:
  • Engineering skills including knowledge of control systems, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics and factory floor equipment programming.
  • Experience PLC programming and troubleshooting. (Keyence, Mitsubishi PLC preferred)
  • Knowledge of computer systems (specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) to perform and present analysis for necessary job duties.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to create and present concepts to internal teams and all levels of management.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience in 220VAC and 24VDC electrical wiring and systems.
