Director of Information Technology

Description:

This is not a remote or hybrid opportunity and it is located at our corporate headquarters in Wilson North Carolina.

The Director of Information Technology will manage and direct the company's information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service. Position reports to CFO.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  1. Hire and train IT staff.
  2. Schedule, organize, and assign projects to members of the IT team.
  3. Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  4. Handle employee issues in accordance with the company policies.
  5. Manage IT consultants/partner contracts as needed and in accordance with the company policies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for maintaining technology operations to include systems administration, network management, telecommunications management, system and data security, system and data backup and emergency recovery plans.
  2. Analyze IT infrastructure and system performance to assess vulnerabilities, operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics.
  3. Lead development and implementation processes for the organization IT systems and department.
  4. Liaison with other departments to determine and address their IT needs and requirements.
  5. Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
  6. Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
  7. Evaluate software licenses for appropriateness and application.
  8. Propose strategic solutions and recommend/purchase new efficient and cost-effective systems and software.
  9. Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
  10. Prepare financial budgets and performance reports.
  11. Facilitate IT security audits or investigations.
  12. Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors/partners and service providers.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems.
  2. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively.
  3. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  4. Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  5. Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Team oriented.

Position Requirements:

Licenses: Current Driver's License

Education: Bachelor of Science degree or Associate degree in information technology, computer science or related field.

Training or Certification: Microsoft NT certification and/or equivalent training.

Experience Required:

  1. At least ten years of experience managing an IT department.
  2. Two years personal computer using Microsoft NT, LAN, Microsoft Suites, and help desk experience desired.

Working Conditions:

  1. All work is performed in the office environment.
  2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  4. Able to work 40 hours per week, overtime as required, and night shift if needed.
