To perform skilled mechanical maintenance work to maintain and repair sewage lift stations and maintenance at water and wastewater treatment plants. Work involves responsibility for maintaining and repairing a variety of pumps and motors and other equipment requiring specialized knowledge of trade skills in mechanical and plumbing areas Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Maintains pumps, motors and gear boxes in the water and sewer operation; performs weekly maintenance including general cleaning of buildings. Maintains the grounds by mowing, weed eating, spraying herbicides, edge sidewalks; maintains mowers. Participates in regular preventive maintenance inspections such as checking and lubricating bearings, gear boxes, checking and replacing filters, packing pumps and other preventive maintenance activities.
